The Wells Jazz & Blues Festival is a three-day music event that provides a platform for established and emerging jazz and blues talent. It takes place in venues in and around Wells city centre and is free at the point of entry making it inclusive for the whole community. Expanding and shaping the cultural life of the city, it introduces a new space for artists and supports the development of talent by ensuring a significant proportion of the event is ring fenced for emerging artists.

Behind the Wells Jazz and Blues Festival is the passion and creatvie drive of Dr Niamh McGrogan, Jennifer Jeffreys and Emma Wheat. LEading on the festival, Niamh is the PGCE Programme Director at Bath Spa University. Responsible for both strategic and operational leadership of the largest PGCE primary programme in the South West, Niamh has extensive experience of designing and implementing a programme which meets the needs of multiple stakeholders and is compliant to multiple governments regulators. In addition, she is experienced at running research projects most recently a large scale Covenant Trust funded Armed Forces project aimed at facilitating educational opportunities for service partners. She leads the festival alongside Jennifer Jeffreys and Emma Wheat. Jennifer has experience in biotech management and quality assurance. Emma is a local businesswoman who regularly runs public facing music workshops while running a local singing group.
