About the event

In today’s rapidly changing era, society has made remarkable progress in the fields of technology and development. However, in this race toward modernization, we have gradually left behind our rich culture and traditional arts.

In a culturally vibrant region like Rajasthan, the devotional Vani singing traditions and the intricate crafts of embroidery, appliqué, and needlework were once the very identity of its villages. Today, these very arts struggle to survive.

The artists who have kept them alive are growing old, while the younger generation is moving away from these traditions. Without timely preservation, their disappearance would be an irreparable loss to our cultural heritage.

Ruma Devi Foundation, with the objective of reviving this cultural heritage, is organising a festival titled “Rumayana Rangotsav 2025 Delhi Chapter - Craft, Culture & Consciousness”

We are Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan (GVCS), Barmer and the Ruma Devi Foundation. For more than fifteen years, we have worked at the grassroots level to strengthen rural women artisans. Our initiatives have supported and trained over fifty thousand women across Western Rajasthan, and through Rajeevika, our work influences a wider network of five million women entrepreneurs.

The organisations are led by Dr. Ruma Devi, a nationally and globally recognised social leader.
