Black Voices in AI: Mentorship for Equity in Tech is a community-based initiative by the CanAfro Research Institute, a federally registered nonprofit dedicated to advancing equity for African, Caribbean, and Black-identifying (ACB) communities in Canada. Building on our AI equity research, this program connects Black youth and early-career professionals with mentors in artificial intelligence and technology, offering coding workshops, AI literacy sessions, and career development support. We are seeking sponsorship to expand this impactful program across Canada and beyond. We have secured one sponosr already and can help us provide mentor honoraria, workshop materials, and digital tools that empower a new generation of Black tech leaders. In return, partners receive public recognition through event materials, social media, and community showcases, highlighting their commitment to equity and innovation in Canada’s growing AI sector.
A sponsor should support our event because it creates real, measurable impact i.e. empowering Black youth and professionals to access mentorship, skills, and opportunities in Canada’s growing AI and technology sectors. This initiative directly aligns with corporate commitments to diversity, equity, and social responsibility, while showcasing the sponsor’s leadership in advancing inclusive innovation.
By supporting this program, sponsors are not only investing in a community initiative but also helping shape a more equitable and competitive Canadian tech ecosystem. Their partnership will be visibly recognized through branding, media outreach, and public engagement, demonstrating a genuine commitment to positive social change and future-ready talent development.
