The Mission of The Growing Stage, The Children’s Theatre of NJ is to nurture the development of the performing arts through education — and to create, produce and perform works that engage the entire family.
The Growing Stage seeks to be a model of excellence in theatre for young audiences. Therefore, we strive to develop new initiatives through the arts, on both the stage and in the classroom. Above all, we do so to enhance and benefit the lives of our young people.
David O'Neill is Development Director at The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of NJ, and holds a BFA in event design and illustration. While he focused on advertising and marketing for the better part of his career, he performed in multiple TGS productions and lent his design skills to the organization with the goal of expanding the theater's visual brand, for which he received the NJ Theatre Alliance Award of Recognition. He later joined the board of trustees and led the board as President until 2024. At the same time, Dave helped develop our Improv classes in the Creative Arts Academy, where he shares his 12+ years of improv comedy experience with students— focusing on confidence, teamwork and storytelling. Today, he works as Development Director for The Growing Stage, focused on patron relations and fundraising, and designs our mainstage sets.
