About the event

In August 2023, I had the privilege of hosting the inaugural Business Brunch & Learn, an exclusive event designed to empower women entrepreneurs. This event held a special significance for me, as it was held in honor of my late grandmother, whose legacy of strength and resilience continues to inspire me. Entrepreneurship has always been close to my heart, but during this time of reflection, I came to appreciate its power even more. Owning a business offered me the freedom and flexibility to navigate grief while building something meaningful.

As the event unfolded, another fact resonated deeply: August is National Black Business Month. This month serves as a powerful reminder to celebrate the incredible contributions of Black entrepreneurs to our economy and communities. They are essential drivers of innovation and job creation, yet they often face unique challenges.

As a Black woman entrepreneur myself, I understand these challenges firsthand. Sometimes, they can feel insurmountable. This is why I also recognize the vital role Black CPAs & financial advisors play in empowering Black-owned businesses. Our expertise and cultural understanding are crucial for building a more inclusive business landscape where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Hi there!

I am a local CPA and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, licensed life insurance agent, and University of South Florida graduate (Go Bulls!). I consider myself a unicorn as just one of only. 5% of Black women who hold both the CPA and CFP certifications)—a decade in public accounting left me burnt out and craving a more fulfilling path. AGA Tax & Consulting Services, a boutique firm, was founded to empower entrepreneurs through strategic tax planning and financial makeovers.

More than just a numbers whiz, I am also a best-selling author of “Awareness Put Me On”, 2024 Sarasota Chamber Minority Business of the Year finalist, Goldman Sachs OMBW BIB Graduate, and passionate financial empowerment coach. I understand the struggles of a messy financial situation firsthand. As a single mom of 2 beautiful daughters, I climbed out of a $50,000 debt hole to build a net worth exceeding $300,000.

With empathy and expertise, I equip clients with the tools to achieve their goals via online workshops, courses, live events, and retreats. My mission is to empower, inspire, and educate so they can walk confidently towards their purpose achieving wealth, happiness, health, and wholeness. A native of Sarasota, I currently reside in Bradenton, Florida with my 2 daughters.
